If you take your pitbull to a doggie park, you have to be the smart owner. A lot of people seem to think that their dog(s) are perfect, and would never bother or irritate another dog.
No one should ever take an aggresive dog to a dog park!! I just had to say that and get it out of the way.
Now with that said… However, when taking your dog to a doggie park, unless you are there alone. Keep your dog leashed. Some dog parks are open, and some have fenced in areas for the dogs to play and run.
If you are in a fenced area, keep your pet(s) leashed until you are sure you are alone inside the fenced area. Look out for other pet owners, who may be approaching the fenced area with their pet. In doing this you allow time for your pet(s) to play and you also allow time to notice other people approaching so you can be near your dog if they enter the area.
Of course keep your calm and normal behavior. Because we want people to see that pitbulls are good behaved dogs too. The fact still remains we have to be responsible owners. This will protect us, and our dogs.
Any court show on t.v have had its share of dog owners on. Usually under stupid circumstances. News Flash!! People will lie. So keep your dog near you and on a leash when out in public doggie park or not, so that you and your pet are safe.
Especially when a dog park is something new that you are introducing to your pet. You don’t want to overwhelm him/her. Let them get use to it. That’s why I say take them when there’s not a mob of dogs there with their owners. So your dog won’t be overwhelmed and he/she can relax and have fun.
Its good to get out with your dog. So that others can see that they have been given a bad rap. And in doing so we have to be responsible owners and give that extra 10% that other owners don’t. It keeps them safe and you.
Point here is to be a responsible pitbull owner!!
